Liz Cartwright is an award-winning writer/director from the West Midlands. She has written and directed a variety of comedy short films which have played at festivals and won awards including the Royal Television Society student awards.

 

Liz is part of the talent collective at Sandwich Club Productions, run by creative producer and BFI talent manager Noel Goodwin. She is currently developing comedic television material with Sandwich Club Productions that will be taken to commissioners later this year.

 

Liz is also a mentee of writer/director Trix Worrell (Desmonds) through production company Distant Voices. She has worked with the company helping in the development of scripted ideas and receives scriptwriting mentorship from Trix to develop her comedic voice.

 

Liz’s lockdown writing project 'Cluedo' came in the top 8% of submissions from over 6800 submissions for the BBC’s Interconnected competition and her short script 'Rabbit' was 1st runner up in the Wentworth Woodhouse Screenwriting Competition.

 

In 2021, Liz graduated with a first class honours in Film Production from the University of Gloucestershire.
